Don Tanaka constantly stands up for a fair wage and benefit package. He also continues to improve training for the apprentices and keeps the journeymen classes up to date on modern technology. Training and education is the key to success in life. Don is always searching for work in the service and repair industry. By having the techs certify in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry which makes the techs a cut above the average techs that do service and repair. This would help the State to recognize the importance of having service techs have a certification card.

Officer of the Union, Trustee for two different local unions covering health and welfare and pension and vacation and holiday. A J.A.C. (joint apprenticeship committee) member. Journeymen training committee member. APALA member (Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance/AFL/CIO, a organization that fights for workers rights across the nation.
How and why did you become involved in the Labor Movement?
Training that our union offers on air conditioning and refrigeration is very important to the member and contractor. Benefits are very important such as pension and health and welfare for myself and my family.
